About our Guest

Dr. Katrina Hood

Dr. Hood is a practicing Pediatrician in Lexington, KY. She graduated from the University of Louisville in 1994, and joined SVMIC's Board of Directors in 2009. Dr. Hood grew up in a medical family and had a natural draw to the field. Starting out as a Linguistics major, she spent some time working abroad helping Japanese children learn English, and through that experience she practiced her passion for helping people which has continued in her career as a pediatrician, and as a member of SVMIC's board. Dr. Hood has 3 children, 3 dogs, enjoys gardening, running, and indoor rowing. Her experience of balancing medicine and life is ingrained through her family with a husband who is also a physician, and 2 of her 3 children also pursuing careers as physicians.

About our Host

Renee Tidwell, currently Director of Corporate Services at SVMIC, has spent many years with the company in a variety of roles. Renee’s current position allows her the unique perspective that comes from working closely with all departments within the company, as well as overseeing customer service to policyholders and working directly with our Board and Committee members. She spends a good deal of her time learning the intricacies of keeping the business running smoothly through working and overseeing many of SVMIC’s company-wide processes. Her venture into podcast hosting allows Renee to experience life through the lens of our listeners where she can bring her company expertise and natural curiosity to her conversations with our wide variety of guests.
