The 2024 Shield Summit

A new event exclusively for the members of
Welcome to SVMIC’s first inaugural Shield Summit

A forum to network, collaborate, and exchange ideas with physician colleagues and practice management experts to understand the unique challenges of a medical practice. A curated group of industry speakers and panelists will share their wisdom and insights on the challenges of medicine today, providing an opportunity for you to learn from them while finding meaningful elements to implement in your own life and practice.

Attendees of the Shield Summit will:
  1. Gain a better understanding of the essential elements of successful leadership and have an opportunity to assess their personal strengths and deficiencies to identify opportunities for improvement,
  2. Review best practices for effective communication, team building and developing culture to positively impact their practice and patients’ experience, and
  3. Identify and assess the key performance indicators in their practice to gauge operations which impact their ability to sustain their practice and deliver quality patient care.

This event was designed with spouses and significant others in mind, with a special meet and greet designed just for them, and an overall goal to provide a collaborative learning experience for physicians and their partners covering several things from work-life balance to what to expect if you get sued.

Attendee Networking Event

Set to the backdrop of local musicians, the Board of Directors and Leadership Team of SVMIC invites you to join fellow attendees to relax, have fun, and enjoy the scenic sights of downtown Nashville. Hosted on the rooftop of the Westin Hotel, this event provides an opportunity to build on the formal sessions of the day.

This event is eligible for up to 10.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

CME Eligibility

Accreditation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine (UTCOM) and State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company.  The UTCOM is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA Credit Designation

The UTCOM designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AOA

This program is eligible for 10.5 credit hours in Category 2-A of the Continuing Medical Education Program of the American Osteopathic Association.  Physicians will need to submit a letter of completion from the University of Tennessee directly to the AOA to receive CME credits, or AOA members may self-report the activity.  

Continuing Education for Non-Physicians

The UTCOM will issue Certificates of Participation to non-physicians for participating in this activity and designates it for CEUs using the national standard that 1 hour of educational instruction is awarded .1 CEU.
