Dr. Faulk chose a career in medicine because of his love for science and solving problems. He shared there’s “no more complex problems than those involving surgery”. After Dr. Faulk completed his fellowship, he joined The Surgical Clinic, PLLC and remained on staff at Saint Thomas Hospital (now Saint Thomas West). Throughout his time in medicine, Dr. Faulk has been awarded for his work, starting in medical school where he received the Osler Award as the “physician’s physician.” He then went on to receive the Urban Maes and Harwell Wilson awards in surgery, followed by the Faculty Teaching award three times for resident education. Dr. Faulk has served as the medical director of the Vascular Lab, the Vascular Procedure Center, the Prosthetic Institute, and the Surgical Inpatient Management Service. Additionally, he served as the Associate Chief at Saint Thomas West for many years. Dr. Faulk’s practice has a long history with SVMIC, which inspired him to join the Board of Directors in 2024.
In his free time, Dr. Faulk can be found building jeeps and off-roading in Tennessee and out west. Dr. Faulk has a passion for motorcycle superbikes and has spent many weekends at the racetrack.

Integrity. Do the right thing. SVMIC seeks to mitigate risk not only by taking action after adverse events occur but by educating physicians to prevent these events from ever occurring by encouraging best practices.
