After working in 2005 as part of the Risk Management Committee, Dr. Hood was impressed by SVMIC’s commitment to going beyond the core insurance offerings to helping with physician well-being. It was an easy choice for her to accept a position on the Board knowing the heart and mission of SVMIC.
In her free time, she enjoys family time, spoiling her dogs, gardening, running, and indoor rowing. Dr. Hood's family is deep in medicine; her husband is a physician, and 2 of her 3 children are pursuing careers as physicians.
