Dr. Young got into medicine because of a desire to help people both be, and stay, healthy. She was influenced by her family physician in Mobile, Alabama - Dr. Albert Thomas, a hardworking, caring, and accomplished general practice physician who was extremely well-respected in the community. After joining the Fellows and Underwriting Committees, she found new aspects to practicing medicine that were immensely helpful. Serving on the Board has allowed her to take a more in-depth role in the company and provide opinions from a minority and female perspective.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Young enjoys watching football (NFL, college, and high school), NBA basketball, volleyball, soccer, listening to jazz, watching romantic comedies, and scrapbooking.
