Gretchen, originally from Louisville, KY, earned her BS in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University and her MS in Healthcare Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. With over two decades of healthcare leadership experience, as a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE), and as a Senior Certified Professional with the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), she brings a wealth of expertise to the SVMIC team. Her career includes a senior leadership position at TennCare, CEO/Owner of a care management company, and Executive Director at multiple independent and assisted living facilities. In these roles, she successfully managed and expanded businesses across multiple states, organized employee development and incentive programs, and achieved growth in both revenue and client retention. Gretchen’s combination of entrepreneurial success, strategic insight, and operational proficiency makes her a valuable resource for SVMIC policyholders. She is grateful to work for SVMIC, an organization that values exceptional culture and provides her with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of policyholders and their employees.
Outside of work, Gretchen enjoys cultivating her flower garden, is an avid reader, and is deeply committed to volunteering with organizations that support unhoused families, striving to make a positive impact in her community. She now embraces the empty-nest phase of life, traveling to Barcelona to visit her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren, cheering on her twenty-something son as he launches, and loving on her beloved furbaby.
